Electricity and natural gas dispatches to be taken over by Transelectrica and Transgaz

Razvan Nicolescu, the new Minister of Energy, has decided not to carry the former minister’s initiatives through. More precisely, according to a press release, the new Minister Delegate for Energy is in favor of reintegrating all electricity and natural gas dispatches in Transelectrica and Transgaz, respectively. The Executive has recently approved an Emergency Ordinance on transferring Transelectrica and Transgaz from the Ministry of Finance to the General Secretariat of the Government, following an initiative brought forward by Constantin Nita, former Minister Delegate for Energy. Pursuant to the legislative act, the Minister Delegate for Energy will take over the methodological and functional coordination of the National Energy Dispatch and the National Natural Gas Dispatch. However, problems related to European legislation could arise if these dispatches are to be coordinated by the Energy Department. “In this respect, the Department believes it is necessary to immediately remove all legislative ambiguities connected to the possible take-over of dispatches by the administrative entity which manages the interests of energy production companies,” an Energy Department press release shows.
