PM Ponta meets Repsol representatives

Prime Minister Victor Ponta met yesterday the representatives of oil company Repsol, one of the major investors in developing prospecting and exploiting activities for the oil and natural gas resources of Romania, reads a Government release. Repsol company is involved, along with OMV Petrom, in projects targeting the deep layers resources, using the most advanced technologies which are going to allow the expansion of the oil production capacity in Romania. “The prime minister stressed the importance given by the Romanian Government to a stronger energy security by developing the national resources based on safe technologies and in accordance with the environmental demands. The prime minister also encouraged the involvement in these activities of the subcontractors in Romania who have a major expertise,” reads the release. The prospects of the regulatory background in the field were presented during the discussions, stressing the importance given to the consolidation of a predictable and stimulating investing area.
