Twenty-six films from 22 countries in NexT International Film Festival

A number of 26 films from 22 countries will take part in the competition of the eighth NexT International Film Festival, according to a release the organizers sent to Agerpres.
Spectators will have the opportunity to see stories coming from almost the whole world, from Great Britain and France to Argentina or Kyrgyzstan. Co-selectors Irina Trocan and Andrei Rus chose some of the most challenging recent short films of the more than one thousand films taking part in the festival. The 26 films taking part in the competition include two Romanian names too: ‘Tomorrow, Bach,’ directed by Mihnea Andrei Ciorica and ‘Idle’ by Raia Al Souliman.
One of the members of this year’s jury will be the well-known British filmmaker Peter Webber, who directed such films as ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring,’ and ‘Hannibal Rising.’ The jury will also include Karel Och, from the Czech Republic, artistic director of the Karlovy Vary Festival, Martina Bleis, from Germany, member on the selection committee of Berlinale Co-Production Market, Julia Sinkevych, from Ukraine, coordinator of the Department for International Events and Projects at the Odessa Film Festival, Alfonso Gonzalez Aguilar, from Spain, film music composer, Vava Stefanescu, from Romania, choreographer and cultural manager, and Vlaicu Golcea from Romania, musician.
