600 Constanta Port workers protest at Ministry of Transports

About 600 representatives of the National Federation of Port Unions Constanta protested on Wednesday at the Ministry of Transports against the shift of Constanta Port from the Government under Constanta Local Council, threatening that, if this decision is enforced, they will stop the entire activity in the port, according to Mediafax. Federation president Mihai Burlacu said they want an emergency meeting with Prime Minister Victor Ponta and Minister of Transport Dan Sova to present them the “legal reasons” of the unions to stop the transfer of Constanta Port to the local authority. “We also appeal to the Supreme Council of Defence and implicitly to President Traian Basescu to come up with an official position on the Government intention to list the port authority on the Stock Exchange and to shift the port to the local council,” said Burlacu.
