Samsung Galaxy S5, officially in Romania

Samsung Electronics launched yesterday the fifth generation of the Galaxy S series, the new device Galaxy S5. Under the motto “Inspired and created by people,” the new Galaxy S5 provides the users with a special experience, as well as with innovation in all essential functions necessary in the everyday life, said Joseph (Jeongwoo) Kim, CEO of Samsung Electronics Romania, during the launching event. Available on the market as of April in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold, Galaxy S costs EUR 700 without plan contract, according to unofficial estimations. At pre-order, the phone is available for EUR 249 along with a Panther 55 plan and EUR 199 for a Red 59 plan at Vodafone, according to information on the websites of the two operators.
According to Edward (Eutak) Han, Business Director Telecom Samsung, the new model Galaxy S5 is a smartphone with a 5.1 inch screen, full HD resolution and S-AMOLED technology. It retained basically the same shape of Galaxy S4 but it gets charged by USB 3.0 and is water-and dust-resistant. Samsung Galaxy S5 has an Android 4.4.2 operation system KitKat with its own Samsung interface. The phone has a smaller battery than the previous model, reaches 2,800 mAh, with an Ultra Power Saving power saving system. According to the Samsung officials, it can get 24 hours autonomy from 10 per cent of battery left in UPS. Samsung Galaxy S5 has 2G RAM, a quad-core processor 2.5 GHz and is available in three colors, blue, black and white. The camera has been improved, at 16 megapixels and filming 4K. (Dan Barboi)
