Maria Dinulescu was named the best actress at “LA Indie Film Festival 2014” for her role in the short movie “Stepping Out” directed by Nataliya Padilla, reports the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in New York. The movie “Stepping Out” won two major prizes at “LA Indie Film Festival.” Thus, the film gained the award for the best movie director – Nataliya Padilla, and for the best actress, Romanian Maria Dinulescu. The producers announced they will take this movie at the “Short Film Corner” at Cannes as well. “I am glad the efforts made over the past couple of years start to pay back! I am finishing shooting for a new short movie and I am prepared to start another! There are small steps, but they take me in the direction I wanted!,” said Maria Dinulescu. She played in the debut short movie of another famous Romanian filmmaker, “Recreational fishing” by Adrian Sitaru, presented in the US at the Palm Springs Festival in January and included in the programme of the International Movie Festival in Miami between March 6 and 15.
