Bert Fol, returns to Bucharest as GM of Radisson Blu Hotel

Radisson Blu Hotel in Bucharest, the biggest five star hotel in Romania, appointed Bert Fol as General Manager (GM) of the hotel. He is taking over the leadership from Yilmaz Yildirimlar, who has been promoted as Regional Director Park Inn by Radisson hotels in Russia. Bert Fol is an internationally experienced hotelier with over 30 years of working in the hospitality industry from which more than 22 years occupying the GM position in the biggest hotels chains worldwide. Also, Fol was the GM of Hilton hotel in Bucharest between 2003 and 2005. Bert Fol is now a valuable member of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. Previously to the new position, he was GM in one of Moscow’s most luxurious five star hotels – Marriott Royal Aurora.
The five – star unit on Calea Victoriei is among the top three best performing hotels for the Carlso Rezidor group in Central and Eastern Europe, Willem Van der Zee, areas vice – president for Central Europe within the group said in a press conference. He also mentioned the Zurich, Hanover and Bucharest Radisson Blu hotels as the best performing in the region, without going into further details. Under Fol’s helm, the Bucharest hotel is expected to welcome a new Carlson Rezidor brand to Romania. The owners of the Radisson Blu and Centre Ville Aparthotel complex in Bucharest plan to turn some of the Centre Ville apartments into a hotel most likely under the Park Inn brand. Group representatives did not rule out the possibility to open another Radisson Blu hotel even in the capital Bucharest, and said several other projects are in discussions for other cities across Romania.
