Inter Milan announced on Monday that it has amicably canceled its contract with Romania’s Cristi Chivu, the Serie A club’s official website informs. After playing seven seasons for Milan, Chivu was forced to retire because of injuries. “The club thanks Cristian for being the protagonist, with great strength and loyalty, of years that will always be remembered as among the most glorious in the club’s history. Internazionale Milano thanks him and his wonderful family,” Inter Milan writes on its official website. “It’s the end of a journey… and the beginning of the rest of my life,” Cristian Chivu, the former captain of Romania’s national team, stated for Mediafax.
