DNA prosecutor appointed Bucharest Prefect

The Government decided to withdraw Georgeta Gavrila from her position of prefect of Bucharest and appoint Paul Nicolae Petrovan in this position, who has been prosecutor at the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA). “The Superior Magistracy Council approved it and he will be appointed prefect of Bucharest, indeed,” said Victor Ponta yesterday at Victoria Palace at the request of the press, according to Mediafax.
Since December 2013, Paul Nicolae Petrovan is a military prosecutor service chief at the Service for criminal investigations on corruption or corruption-related cases, section for fighting corruption cases by military personnel.
Also yesterday, Mihai Daniel Rasica, supported by UNPR (party in ruling alliance), who has been executive director at Voluntari Community Police, was appointed by the Government as Prefect of Ilfov County, replacing Speranta Cliseru, supported by PSD.
