The second Jazz in Church Festival started on Thursday at the Lutheran Church in Bucharest. Over the next three days, the music aficionados will have the opportunity to listen and watch performing live several selected European artists, all famous jazz players. According to the organizers, each festival evening will elegantly combine the famous musicians, such as Michel Portal, one of the parents of modern jazz, Markus Stockhausen, whose repertoire includes musical projects specially created for church environment or Irene Schweizer and Pierre Favre, the two maestros of free improv and one of the most lasting partnerships in jazz, dating from 1966. The festival will conclude along Stefano Battaglia and Michele Rabbia, a duo displaying an amazing force, two of the most searched for, known and famous Italian musicians of the new European music wave. One of the greatest surprises of the festival is the musical project presented for the first time by Ambrose Field from the UK for the voice of John Potter, supported by a string quartet.
