KMG promises to invest USD 170 M in Romania

KMG (KazMunaiGas) International NV, formerly part of Rompetrol, is currently reevaluating the possibility of expanding on the fuel distribution markets in Ukraine and Turkey, while aiming to invest approx. USD 170 million to open 96 gas stations in Romania. “The initial plan was to expand to Ukraine and Turkey, but we have serious concerns about Ukraine’s political situation. Turkey is a different story. Perhaps we need to reevaluate our plan,” Azamat Zhangulov, senior vice-president of KMG International NV, stated.
