Amon Amarth to perform at Roman Arenas in Bucharest

Sweden’s melodic death metal band AMON AMARTH decided to go on tour to promote their latest album “Deceiver of the Gods”, and they will be performing also in Romania at Bucharest-based Roman Arenas on April 29, according to a press release. The organizers of the event are Promusic Events and Maximum Rock Magazin (producer Nelu Brindusan).
Thundering riffs and the overwhelming power of a sound both hard and uplifting – these are the elements that make the music of AMON AMARTH to reach the ears of Odin himself.
The band comprises vocalist Johan Hegg, guitarist Johan Soderberg, guitarist Olavi Mikkonen, bassist Ted Lundström and drummer Fredrik Andersson.
The melodic death metal band was founded in 1992 in Tumba, Sweden and since then it has done nothing else but wake “the gods” by the force of their songs.  Complexes but without sacrificing the pure brutality of the genre, the Amon Amarth songs stood out rapidly in the metal community. The band’s name is inspired by the works of writer JRR Tolkien and refers to the fictional volcano in the series “Lord of the Rings”. The band has attracted the attention of specialized publications that rushed to call the Swedish group a “revelation”. “The debut album of these angry and cruel Vikings from the far north, Once Sent from the Golden Hall is a guideline of the metal genre and contains so many hard riffs and so many memorable songs that it can easily be called a revelation,” Metal Hammer wrote.
After this first album released in 1998, the band has released other 8 studio albums. “Versus the World”, their fourth album features in “Top 500 rock and metal albums of all time” drawn up by the prestigious Rock Hard Magazine. “With Oden on Our Side”, song no. 6, rose to No. 15 in Top Billboard and has shown that Amon Amarth continued to be champions of the worldwide death metal tournament. The same happened with the follow -up, “Twilight of the Thunder God”, which won Billboard recognition.
The band’s latest album “Deceiver of the Gods”, released on June 25, 2013, ranked 9th in the Canadian Albums Chart and received a great reception from critics and fans. Magazines like Loudwire, Metal Hammer, Decibel and Revolver Magazine gave top marks to the album, calling it one of the best albums of the year.
Only 300 tickets are still available for the band’s concert in Bucharest, of the total of 1,000 tickets initially on sale: RON 95 between April 1-28, 2014 (still valid paying by card) and RON 110 for the tickets purchased on the day of the concert, April 29, 2014, which are purchased only at the entrance to the venue.
Opening this concert will be the Iasi-based God – The Barbarian Horde band and the Hypnos from the Czech Republic.
