Chevron to start prospecting operation at Pungesti

American giant corporation Chevron plans to start prospecting operations for shale gas at Pungesti, in “two to three weeks” said director for Romania Tom Holst for AFP on Tuesday, during a visit to the place where the operations will take place, reports Mediafax. The bus with the journalists who visited the perimeter owned by Chevron company in Pungesti on occasion of the “Day of open gates” was hit by eggs and stones by the locals who protested yesterday as well. No person was injured following the incidents. Chevron got their second building authorization in Vaslui, after the Pungesti authorization, to place a prospecting drill for shale gas in Puiesti, as the document was released by the County Council after all the papers were submitted by the oil company.
