The General Prosecutor Office’s decision to open the file follows a notice sent by the Prime Minister’s Audit Body that concerns hires made in the 2011-2013 period.
The High Court of Justice’s Prosecutor Office has opened a criminal file for malfeasance and forgery, concerning a series of hires made within ROMATSA in the 2011-2013 period. “Following the notice sent by the Prime Minister’s Audit Body, a criminal file has been opened on the roll of the penal and criminal investigation section of the High Court of Justice’s Prosecutor’s Office, the investigations focusing on a series of hires made within ROMATSA during 2011, 2012 and 2013. The prosecutors have ordered today, April 10, 2014, the start of the criminal prosecution for malfeasance against public interests and forgery,” a communiqué released on Thursday by the High Court of Justice’s Prosecutor’s Office reads, Mediafax informs.
In 2011, ROMATSA hired two advisors of the then-premier Emil Boc, with the approval of Transport Ministry’s secretary general Gheorghe Dobre, although the prerogative belonged to ROMATSA’s director, the government informed on March 29. One of the two advisors had been Emil Boc’s driver at PDL. The two, Darius Pintilie and Marius Buzea, were hired as engineer/special inspector/special referent/expert in air traffic services, the government pointed out on March 29.
The government pointed out that ROMATSA documents show that the two were allegedly hired following a written exam, although the books show that they were not present at the agency’s headquarters on the day of the exam. Moreover, their exam papers do not contain details about the place, date and hour of the examination or about the author, being simply signed by hand on their final pages. Moreover, one exam subject was solved identically by the two, using the same information and ideas and even having the same spelling mistakes. Pintilie and Buzea were hired for a gross monthly salary of about RON 11,000.
