President Traian Basescu sent out a public message yesterday, on the Jewish holiday of Pesach, the Presidential Administration reports. ‘It is my special pleasure to extend to you my warmest congratulations on the traditional holiday of Pesach, which brings together all members of the Romanian and world’s Jewish communities. The message of this great Judaic holiday that celebrates freedom, joy and communion, brings back to the thoughts and souls of everybody the values of a millennial spirituality. I wish that the Pesach 5774 holiday filled you with the joy of reuniting in the Temple and in families. May it reassure you of the force of spiritual rebirth and the hope that we will be together in all important moments to the Jewish communities and Romania, a country that has always enjoyed your attachment and contribution to the common good,’ reads President Basescu’s message, quoted by Agerpres.
