Minister delegate for Energy Razvan Nicolescu sent the Control Team to make further investigations at the Nuclear Activities Autonomous Department (RAAN) and dismissed special administrator Danut Andrusca. “…It seems unethical that he should get a monthly income of RON 20,000 as RAAN is in insolvency. Viorel Marian will replace Andrusca, the former being energy expert who worked in several energy companies, including Termoelectrica,” said Nicolescu on Tuesday, during a press conference. RAAN produces heavy water for Nuclearelectrica Plant at Cernavoda and thermal energy and power for its own usage and for the consumers in Drobeta Turnu-Severin. According to Nicolescu, Oltenia Energy Complex is very affected by RAAN insolvency, as it has RON 230 million to recover for the coal they supplied to RAAN to produce thermal energy and power. RAAN also has an extra RON 40 million debt to Oltenia Energy Complex. He added that it requires a discussion including future RAAN in a session of the Supreme Defence Council (CSAT).
