Samsung Electronics has launched its first series of Ultra High Definition (UHD) curved TVs, present on the market in the 55-inch and 65-inch screen options, with the 78-inch model set to be launched in the second half of the year. The prices for the two models stand at RON 14,000 and 21,000 respectively, a press release informs. Company representatives stated at a press conference that three such TVs have already been sold and they estimate they will sell over 1,000 UHD units this year. The Curved UHD series (which has a resolution four times higher than Full HD) offers users a much more intense experience because of the wider viewing field and depth perception. The television set’s curve enhances the size of the viewing field through a panning effect, and the distance is equal from any point on the screen to the eye, which minimizes distortions at the edge of the screen.
