Start of the 4th edition of Caracal Theater Festival

The event dedicated to theater giant Radu Beligan will unfold April 26-May 4.

The last days of April will bring the 4th edition of the Caracal Theater Festival to the elegant theater in Caracal recently named after actor Stefan Iordache, jurnalul.ro informs. Until May 4, this edition will offer theater lovers seven plays originally produced in Bucharest theaters and one play performed by a British cast. Theater critic Marina Constantinescu said “the common denominator of these shows is professionalism and the passion for acting.”
The festival opened Saturday, April 26 with an extraordinary performance by artists Gheorghe Zamfir and Grigore Lese. The following three evenings will include plays produced by and starring Radu Beligan, as the event centers around this great personality of Romanian theater, namely The Cello Lesson, directed by Felix Alexa and starring Radu Beligan as the main character, The Meaning of Family, directed by Radu Beligan and performed by the Comedy Theater cast, and Number One (The National Theater of Bucharest – TNB), directed by and starring the great Romanian maestro.
