Festive concerts to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Slovak Republic’s accession to the EU

The radio choir accompanied by the host pianist Ivica Neshybova under the baton on the conductor Adrian Kokoswill performed for the first time before the Romanian audience on 27th and 29th April 2014, a press release informs. This renowned Slovak musical ensemble gave two festive concerts to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Slovak Republic’s accession to the EU in Nadlac and Bucharest.
In Nadlac, the radio ensemble performed a varied program focussed predominantly on Slovak choral music. The audience listened to Milan Novak’s compositions,  Alexander Moyzes’ folk songs, Milan Rufus’ prayers, Vi?azoslav Kubicka’s and Juraj Hatrik’s  choral works as well as  the Slovak choral hymn Akasi mi krasna (How Beautiful You Are) by Eugen Suchon and a temperament Romanian folk song as a bonus for home audience. The second performance of the RTVS choir held in the music hall of the residence of the Slovak Republic in Bucharest where festive concert to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Slovak Republic’s accession to the EU under the baton of the conductor Adrian Kokos was given under the presence of ambassadors of several EU countries. The concert program consisted of compositions of several European countries: Slovakia, Greece, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Romania. The concert was concluded by L. van Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’ – the European anthem.
