Mircea Cartarescu to participate at the International Poetry Festival in Barcelona

Romanian writer Mircea Cartarescu will participate in the 30th edition of the International Poetry Festival in Barcelona, according to the information remitted to by the Town Hall of the Catalan capital, quoted by Agerpres. Six authors with distinguished paths will meet at the new edition of the festival, organized for three decades in Barcelona. Mircea Cartarescu was invited to the festival together with Catalan poets Antoni Clapes and Anna Montero, Russian poet Aleksandr Kuixer, British poet Mary Jo Bang and Spanish author Maria Negroni. According to the organizers, these poets, seen as ‘voices that come from cultures as different as possible, that aspire both to create beauty and enthrall souls and give more meaning to life’ will evidence, through the languages in which they write, ‘the force and timelessness of poetic writing when the vicissitudes of life are radiographed.
