The number of arrivals and overnight stays in hospitality facilities advanced in March 2014 by 7.8 percent from the previous month, and by 14.5 percent compared to March 2013, according to provisional data published by the National Statistics Institute (INS) on Monday. Arrivals of foreign tourists registered at Romania’s border checkpoints went up by 1.7 percent, while Romanian tourist departures advanced 6.3 percent. The number of arrivals to Romania’s tourist accommodation facilities hit 517,000 this March, 7.8 percent higher compared to the same month of 2013.
