Horse riding: Competitors from 19 countries at Transylvania Horse Show

Competitors from 19 countries participated this weekend in the Transylvania Horse Show, the biggest international equestrian competition organized in Romania, in the Prod village (299 km north of Bucharest), informs a release to Agerpres that also notes that prestigious representatives of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports were also present at the competition.
Now at its fourth edition, Transylvania Horse Show hosted three types of tournaments: Eventing International; Eventing Cup of Romania – Novices category; and the AIEC Student Riders Nation Cup – Romania 2014, organized in collaboration with the Association Internationale des Etudiants Cavaliers (AIEC).
Romania’s representative Viorel Bubau, riding on Arcitic, won the gold medal in the Eventing International trials. Second in this category came the representative of France – Lucie Bardin, who had placed third last year. Victor Bubau, this time riding on Selena, also secured the bronze medal.
The winner at the Eventing Cup of Romania – Novices category, was Hunor Szabo from the Romsilva club, riding on Yavrum. Next came Mihai Vajnar on Olympia (Agroturism Club) and Calin Nemes, on Eros (representing the club U Cluj). A section introduced this year, the Eventing Cup of Romania – Novices category is intended for emerging Romanian horses or riders with less experience in equestrian eventing.
The winner of the AIEC Student Riders Nation Cup – Romania 2014 was Dutch student Marcia Dominicus, while the silver medal was claimed by Irish rider Tori Dicson, and the bronze went to Austrian student Katharina Wilding. In the competition by teams, the gold was claimed by Ireland.
The International Federation for Equestrian Sports was represented by the technical delegate Andrew Griffiths (UK), while Belgian referee Michel Van Gerwen was jury president.
The latest news is that the Transylvania Horse Show team is preparing another international equestrian tournament to run during October 3 – 5 on the Cantacuzino estate in Floresti (Prahova County).
