Young Romanian woman found “crucified” at Florence outskirts

The dead body of a 26-year-old Romanian woman was found crucified on Monday at the outskirts of the Italian city of Florence, as the victim had suffered torture, reports Mediafax, quoting the Italian media. According to ASCA news agency, the Romanian was found by a cyclist on Monday morning, who alerted the police. Ansa news agency claims the woman was a prostitute and quotes the police as saying that she must have been killed by a client who immobilized her with an iron bar, in order to torture her. The Police is also claiming that the dead body position was probably accidental, “with no symbolic significance.” The woman’s clothes were found one km away. A year ago, another woman was found in a similar position, her arms tied up to an iron bar, but alive, said the police. Despite the Italian authorities’ assurances, there might be a serial killer on the loose. Later, the Italian authorities confirmed they take into account the possibility that the Romanian killed in Florence should be the victim of a serial killer, as similar traits were found with other six cases of sexual assault or murders. According to sources quoted by ArticoloTre.com news website, the duct tape the Romanian was tied with is the same with the one used in other six cases of murder or sexual abuse committed in Florence and in the entire Tuscany region. The investigators are looking for a man aged about 50 to 60, Italian, most likely soliciting prostitutes’ services.
