Tariceanu: Romania, the first country to ratify EU – R. of Moldova Association Agreement

Romania will be the first country to ratify the Association Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova, Senate Speaker Calin Popescu-Tariceanu this Wednesday assured President of the Moldovan Parliament Igor Corman, while on a visit to Chisinau, according to Agerpres.
The Senate Speaker added that the Republic of Moldova deserves congratulations on the remarkable progress made in the last period and for having proven to be a country the EU seeks to get closer to.
‘The extremely concerning political crisis is on top of our agenda, and from this perspective we had an extremely helpful exchange of opinions. What I can tell you is that we pay attention to and consider the relationship with the Republic of Moldova as a privileged one, and I believe that the benefits your country draws from the rapprochement to the EU are visible, they can be measured especially in the context of the regional political crisis,’ Tariceanu mentioned.
