55-year-old electrician Riccardo Viti was arrested Friday in connection with the murder of Andreea Cristina Zamfir after he confessed. The man told the police he has been soliciting prostitutes since 2005. He also explained that due to unemployment he could only pay EUR 30 instead of EUR 100 like he used to. According to, Viti is a suspect in nine other sexual abuse cases in which murder was not involved. The Italian explained to the investigators that he had not meant to kill the woman. “Yes, yes, it was stupid of me; I didn’t know she would die,” he said.
