The man who physically assaulted an old woman in the Nana commune, Calarasi County, during a visit paid by Elena Udrea, was detained by prosecutors. The arrest warrant against Stefan Fileata was issued Thursday evening by the prosecutor’s office of the Oltenita Tribunal, which demanded that the man is placed on remand. The court decided Friday evening that he stays on house arrest during the investigation, but the decision is not final and prosecutors will appeal. According to the prosecutor’s office of the Supreme Court, the man is probed under the charges of physical assault and other acts of violence, and disturbance of peace. “The victim was assaulted by Fileata Stefan who, seeing that the incident is filmed by the operator of a TV channel, hit him, insulted him and threatened him with violence if he continues to record on camera. As a consequence of the acts of violence, the woman suffered injuries that require 2-3 days of medical care in order to heal,” informs the prosecutor’s office of the High Court of Cassation and Justice (PICCJ). Following the assault, a medical check revealed that the woman has concussions on arms and hips.
