Romania to set up information stand in Haifa for Europe Day celebrations

Romania will set up a national information stand as part of the Europe Day celebrations to be organised by the Centre of German and European Studies and the Students’ Association of the Haifa University on May 15.
Romania’s Embassy in Israel will provide general information materials and bring to the attention of Israeli students study opportunities in Romania as well as the open hours of the Romanian Language Lecturer’s Office in Tel Aviv. At the stand, the activities and events scheduled by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) of Tel Aviv will be presented to the public, including Romanian language classes. Also distributed will be information materials and new members will be registered for the ICR Tel Aviv database. Europe Day will be celebrated in a one-day festival where each attending country will set up a national stand, as well as a roundtable conference called ‘The EU Greatest Challenges Today,’ and an international conference called ‘Social Issues in Contemporary Europe: Cosmopolitanism, Gender, and Urban Spaces,’ where attending will be ambassadors of the European Union member states. The Centre of German and European Studies of the Haifa University is holding this year the second edition of European Market dedicated to Europe Day. The event gathers together students and professors to celebrate Europe and get as many people as possible acquainted with the European culture, history and politics. Part of the event, the diplomatic missions and cultural institutes accredited in Israel will set up stands to promote their national and European identities.
