Gymnast Larisa Iordache nominated Miss European Championship 2014

Romanian gymnast Larisa Iordache was nominated “Miss European Championship 2014” in Sofia where she won four medals – three in individual events (gold, silver and bronze) and one in the team event. Romania won a total of nine medals.  According to the Romanian Gymnastics Federation’s announcement, Larisa Iordache was nominated “Miss European Championship 2014” by the specialists and journalists present in Sofia “for the elegance of her performances, for the commanding appearance and attitude shown during the competition.” Other votes went to Italy’s Vanessa Ferrari, Switzerland’s Giulia Steingruber, France’s Claire Martin, Russia’s Aliya Mustafina and Great Britain’s Catherine Lyons, but Larisa Iordache won the title.  “I am surprised and very happy that I received this recognition. I didn’t expect this! For me the most important thing was the competition. Now I am honored to be Miss European Championship – how nice!” Larisa Iordache said at the end of the competition.
