Operating lease market up 3.4 pc in Q1

The operating lease market reported a 3.4 percent increase in the first quarter on a year-on-year basis, to more than 43,000 units, according to data provided by ASLO (Operating Lease Companies Association), which estimates that the industry will conclude the year with 45,000 units. Over the first three months of the year, about 2,300 new cars were leased by the operating lease companies, representing more than 14 percent of the total number of new light vehicles registrations, reports an ASLO release. The top five positions of the relevant market are held by the companies LeasePlan Romania, ALD Automotive Porsche Mobility, Arval Service Lease Romania and Fleet Management Services, according to the association. The industry might conclude the year with about 45,000 units, roughly 5 percent higher compared to 2013, considering the interest for operating lease and fleet management services, manifested through the higher number of requests from the companies owning car fleets.
