Steaua vs. Astra in Romanian Cup final today

The Bucharest Police has mobilized over 330 police officers that will handle public order and traffic safety during the Romanian Cup final game that pits FC Steaua Bucharest against AFC Astra Giurgiu this Friday on Bucharest’s National Arena.
“The Bucharest police officers will organize and intensify their patrols in subway stations and public transport, seeking to prevent fraud committed through various modus operandi, such as approaching persons, theft from purses or pockets, theft from cars or car theft,” a Bucharest General Police Directorate communiqué remitted to Agerpres on Thursday reads.
At the same time, Bucharest policemen will intensify their actions meant to prevent and combat violent crimes and actions capable of interfering with the normal progress of this event.
In order to ensure the full security of the sports event, as well as to avoid the appearance of conflicts capable of disturbing the peace and public order, the Bucharest Police recommends citizens to be patient and to avoid getting themselves involved in conflicts of any nature, to respect the law enforcement officers’ and traffic policemen’s indications.
Likewise, drivers are advised not to drink alcohol if they plan to drive and to behave in a civilized and respectful manner towards other participants to traffic.
“If you witness antisocial behavior do not hesitate to call for assistance from the nearest police patrol or to call the 112 emergency number. At the same time, you can report traffic problems on phone number 021.9544,” the communiqué points out.
Astra Giurgiu coach Daniel Isaila stated on Thursday at a press conference that he wants to win his first trophy, the Romanian Cup, on Friday evening. “It’s a very important game for both teams. The final is a veritable celebration and we treat it as such. I have great confidence in the boys. Emotions are normal at the start of the game, but then they disappear and focusing is important. I want to win the first trophy and most of Astra’s players could also possibly win their first trophy. The chances are equal, but everything is possible,” Isaila said.
The game will start at 9 PM and will be broadcast live on ProTV and DigiSport.
