Macroeconomic confidence index, new historic maximum

The macroeconomic confidence index for April 2014 reached a new historic maximum, reaching the value of 61.6 (compared with 54.5 registered in the previous month), shows CFA’s periodical survey on the perception of the macroeconomic evolution of Romania. According to the release, the advance was owed to both index components. Therefore, the current business conditions stood at 41.8, increasing over 8 points from the value registered in the previous survey and the expectations index registered the value of 71.5, a new historic maximum, increasing approximately 6 points from the value registered in March. ‘Concerning the EUR/RON exchange rate, the average values of the expectations for the two periods taken into account indicated a value of 4.5000 for the following 6 months (similar to that registered in the previous survey).
