More than 200 employees of the National Television TVR channel gathered in the institution courtyard on Wednesday in Bucharest as a protest against the decision of the board to reduce the working hours and the payment of the employees, calling for the resignation of President Stelian Tanase. The protesters wore a banner with the faces of some of those they consider responsible for the difficult financial situation of the Romanian Television, among whom Claudiu Saftoiu, former president-CEO of the public television and Cristian Zgabercea, general producer of the television. After about an hour of protests, people started to leave TVR courtyard, without any person with a managerial position talking to them, according to Mediafax. Dragos Bocanaciu, president of TVR union, said that the protest manifestations will continue over the entire week. Yesterday, about 30 employees of TVR Iasi territorial branch had a spontaneous working strike and protested in front of the institution. Similar protests took place in the territorial branches of the Romanian Television in Timisoara, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova and Targu-Mures.
