National Stradivarius Tour concludes on June 11 at Radio Hall

The concert concluding the National Stradivarius Tour, performed by violinist Alexandru Tomescu will take place on June 11 at 7 pm at the Radio Hall in Bucharest, under the title “In the Mood for Prokofiev.” For the seventh year in a row, violinist Alexandru Tomescu, soloist of Radio Orchestras and Choruses, who has had the honor to play on the Stradivarius Elder-Voicu violin since 2007, presented to the Romanian public the National Stradivarius Tour, which is going to conclude with the show in Bucharest. The repertoire will include a selection of the most appreciated violin and piano works of Russian composer Sergei Sergeyevich Prokofiev, Five Melodies for Violin and Piano and the two Sonatas for violin and piano. Famous Russian pianist Eduard Kunz accompanies Alexandru Tomescu.
Stradivarius Tour, conceived around the collection violin on which it is played, is an annual event that made the young violinist travel in many places around the country. He interpreted the three major solo violin works, the 24 caprices by Niccolo Paganini, the six Sonatas by Eugene Ysaye and the six Sonatas and partitas by Johann Sebastian Bach, as the tours were followed by DVD or CD releases which enjoyed a great success. Equally fond of chamber music, Alexandru Tomescu played in the Romanian Piano Trio firstly (2005-2010), and he has been prim violinist of Ad Libitum Quarter since 2011, a chamber music ensemble with a prestigious history of 25 years.
