Three magistrates from Suceava arrested by DNA, 14 searches in a case of legal corruption

Three magistrates from Suceava were arrested and will be brought to be heard in Bucharest following searches made by DNA on Sunday morning at legal institutions, personal houses and companies in Suceava and Radauti, in a case of legal corruption, according to legal sources quoted by Mediafax. The case in which these magistrates are searched is about corruption, namely taking bribe in exchange for favourable solutions in cases of land restoration, said the quoted sources. The searches in the case of the magistrates were approved by the Superior Magistracy Council. (CSM)
Fourteen searches took place on Sunday in Suceava County at the offices of some legal institutions, companies and houses of some people, DNA said later in a release. According to DNA prosecutors, there are suspicions that some legal corruption and other felonies associated with corruption took place between 2011 and 2014 as well as in 2005 and 2006. The investigators were helped by the Romanian Intelligence Service (SRI) in this case and the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie Troops.
