According to Mediafax, the American company Emerson has launched a new production and engineering service platform yesterday in Cluj-Napoca, following a EUR 55 million investment. The new facilities are expected to employ over 700 persons. Emil Boc, former Prime Minister and currently mayor of Cluj, also took part in the inauguration. Balasz Hopka, Manager of Emerson SRL, said the new investment makes possible the creation of two centers specialized in engineering services and support for European control systems and automation projects, in addition to a production hall for manufacturing flow measurement instruments used for calibration, services, and training. The Emerson campus in Cluj-Napoca is one of the company’s largest work points in Europe at the moment with about 2,000 employees.
