Court definitively rejects the arrest of Nicusor Constantinescu

The appeal filed by Nicusor Constantinescu against the remand decision ruled by the Bucharest Tribunal, at the request of the DNA, was admitted Tuesday by the Bucharest Court of Appeals (CAB) through a definitive decision. Tuesday, CAB rejected the replacement of judiciary control, ordered initially against Constantinescu, with the remand measure. The court also ruled that the president of the Constanta County Council, who is now in the USA, left Romania legally and his stay abroad between June 18 and July 1 is not against the law. In these conditions, the European arrest warrant issued against Nicusor Constantinescu is void. The lawyers of Nicusor Constantinescu asked yesterday to the Bucharest Court of Appeals (CAB) to allow their client, the president of the Constanta County Council (CJ), to stay in the United States of America until September 1. The request was submitted while the court was analyzing the appeal against the decision of the Bucharest Tribunal to arrest Constantinescu.
