Two Japanese musicologists decorated by President Basescu

President Traian Basescu has signed the decree of decoration of two Japanese musicologists, the Presidential Administration informed in a release to Agerpres on Tuesday. According to the document, ‘in appreciation of their dedication to the strengthening of cultural relation between our country and Japan by supporting Romanian artists, organizing concerts, supporting the cultural events of the Romanian Embassy to Japan, and promoting the image of our country in the Japanese cultural circles,’ President Traian Basescu bestowed on July 11 the Cultural Merit Order in rank of Officer, category D – ‘Show Art’ to Mr. Mitsuyoshi Oikawa, conductor, and the Cultural Merit Order in rank of Officer, category F – ‘Promotion of Culture’ to Mrs. Kazuko Shimada, Chair of the Japan – Romania Music Society.
