1,100 km of railroad for rent

The National Railway Company CFR Company will rent about 1,100 km of railway belonging to the non-interoperable railway infrastructure following a public tender bid organized on Monday, July 21 at the Romanian Trade Exchange as the operation is part of the commitments to the IMF, reports a press release. The renting contract for the 1,079.9 km of railway will be made for four years and the highest bid will win. Romanian companies who are licensed railway operators can take part in the bid at the Trade Exchange, according to the conditions written in the documentation. The company can rent through the bid the traffic sections belonging to the non-interoperable railway infrastructure to economic agents as the winners have to take the CFR personnel who are working on that section as well, or the sections group necessary to provide the minimum social package at the moment of the renting, according to the legal provisions. The participants can submit bids for one or more traffic sections in the area of the regional railway branches in Bucharest, Craiova, Timisoara, Cluj, Brasov, Iasi, Galati and Constanta.
