Larisa Crunteanu, Simona Deaconescu and Judith State participate in the danceWEB event in Vienna from July 16 to August 20, the Romanian Cultural Institute informed.
The danceWEB event gathers 63 professional dancers and choreographers from 41 countries in workshops and performances over fiver weeks, simultaneously with the ImpulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival. Two artistic mentors chosen among the most representative choreographers and performers coordinate the 2014 edition: Austrian Chris Haring and French David Wampach. More than 800 choreographers of 70 countries have participated in danceWEB since its launching in 1996; the event is financed from the EU Culture programme for 2007-2013. Crunteanu works in performance and audio-video. She attended the Photograph and Dynamic Image Master’s programme of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, and now studies for a PhD there. Since 2012, she coordinates alongside Xandra Popescu the Atelier 35 art projects space in Bucharest. Choreographer and dancer Deaconescu graduated from the I.L. Caragiale University of Theatre and Film in Bucharest, and got a Master’s Degree there, too. She also studied film directing at the Media University and worked as a TV screenwriter. She carries on programmes in dance, film and cultural management, enjoying success among both the public and the critics. State is a professional dancer and an emerging choreographer, with classic dance and foreign languages as main studies.
