Adrian Nastase can be released on parole

The Court of Sector 4 ruled on Wednesday that former PM Adrian Nastase can be released on parole but the rule is not definitive and can be appealed in three days at Bucharest Tribunal, according to Mediafax. Until the possible appeal might be judged, Nastase remains imprisoned. The Court of Sector 4 Bucharest announced their rule after analyzing the report of the Penitentiary Jilava commission in which they agree the release on parole of Adrian Nastase. The lawyers of the former PM told the case judge that the report is fairly done and that Nastase executed his fraction of prison time, so that according to the rules of the new Criminal Code, he can be released. The supreme court sentenced Adrian Nastase on January 6 in Zambaccian case to four years of prison and his wife Dana Nastase to three years suspended sentence and Irina Jianu to four years of prison. Adrian Nastase was imprisoned in the same day. On June 20, 2012, Adrian Nastase received another sentence of two years from the supreme court in the case “Quality Trophy.”
