President Basescu: PM Ponta hastened to denounce political pact, a very important document
President Traian Basescu said on Thursday that Prime Minister Victor Ponta acted hastily to denounce the agreement of institutional collaboration between the presidency and the government.

‘Victor Viorel Ponta made a hasty move announcing the denouncing of this agreement, because it has its importance, although we both infringed one point of the agreement, concerning the addressing forms. (…) It is not a worthless sheet of paper. It is a very important political document for Romania,’ the president said.

‘So once again I mention that the prime minister rushed. I recommend him to endure this agreement until December 22 2014, because it helps him and spares him and his government a lot of explanations, and it gives our partners the feeling of stability on Romania’s European path, on the consolidation of the transatlantic relations, and on the consolidation of the rule of law,’ Basescu explained.
