Prime Minister Victor Ponta declared on the International Youth Day on Tuesday that he and his government are aware of their duty towards youth; he mentioned that important progress was achieved in solving some of the problems of this social category.
‘We are celebrating the International Youth Day Today, thinking of the problems, the needs and the aspirations of a generation who knows good things and bad things, but keeps dreaming and struggling for a better future. (…) I strongly believe that a political leader, either a prime minister or a president, has to project all his activity on the perspective of future. And youth is the future!’ Ponta wrote on his Facebook page.
According to him, young people are also those who ‘provide dynamics of the economic and social lives; they are creators; they dare to promote change.’
‘We are proud of them when they win international Olympiads and world, Olympic and European championships, creation contests. We appreciate them when they get involved in helping the elderly and unfavoured people, when they work voluntarily and assume responsibilities in the public space or in politics,’ the prime minister asserted
