Scorching heat code yellow warning issued for all counties on Aug 13-14

The National Weather Administration (ANM) on Wednesday issued code yellow of scorching heat warning valid for all counties on Aug. 13-14.

ANM warns that the scorching hot weather will intensify on Wednesday and Thursday. There will be sizzling temperatures in most of the country and thermal discomfort is expected to worsen.

In addition, temperatures will move as high as 35 to 37 degrees Celsius, even 38 degrees in some areas, while the temperature-to-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80.

The national forecaster also warned that starting on Thursday night (Aug. 14) and on Aug. 15, weather instability will gradually increase in western, northern and central Romania, with wind gusts, frequent lightning strikes and isolated, even hail expected to hit these regions
