Used cars registrations down 7 percent in 7 months

The downtrend of used cars registrations continues in Romania; 119,208 such cars were registered between January and July, down 7.23 percent year-on-year, according to statistics of the Driving Licence and Vehicle Registration Directorate (DRPCIV) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Volkswagen is still the preferred brand for used cars, with 33,479 registrations (+5.52 percent compared to the same period of 2013) over the seven-month period mentioned; following are Opel (21,541 units, down 2.48 percent) and Ford (13,969, down 7.98 percent).

Romanian-made Dacia is in the second half of this top, with 495 used cars, up 55.17 percent from the 319 year-ago figure.

Audi and BMW are other significant presences on the used cars market, with more than 7,000 units, DRPCIV data show.
