FM Corlatean, to participate on Friday in FAC meeting on situation in Iraq

Foreign Affairs Minister Titus Corlatean on August 15 will participate in the extraordinary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council, to take place in Brussels with the main discussion focus on the situation in Iraq, informs a Foreign Affairs Ministry (MAE) press release remitted to Agerpres on Thursday.

‘The main topic on the Foreign Affairs Council meeting agenda will be the situation in Iraq, with a focus on the humanitarian and security aspects. Moreover, the EU foreign ministers will assess the latest evolutions in Ukraine,’ the cited source points out.

During the meeting, there will be an opinion exchange on the conflict in Gaza Strip and on the diplomatic demarches for calming this conflict.

At the same time, the MAE release adds, the European chief diplomats will examine the situation in Libya, as well as the measures conducted to counteract the Ebola epidemics in the west of Africa.
