Great Romanian victory against Sweden in EuroBasket 2015 preliminaries

Team Romania produced a great 77-72 win against Sweden (12-14, 16-11, 18-20, 20-21, 11-6) after extra-time on Wednesday night at Transylvania Sports Hall of Sibiu, in Group F of the preliminaries of the men’s European Basketball Championship – EuroBasket 2015.

The game was balanced, with a maximum five points lead for the guest team (19-24 in minute 17) and the tricolours ahead seven points (73-66, minute 43).

It was Romania’s second victory in this campaign after 81-69 away against Slovakia.

Team Romania’s best were Baciu, Mandache and Silvasan, while Pahlmblad and Person played remarkably for Sweden.

Romania is leading Group F with 4 points (maximum possible), followed by Latvia (2 points after 1 game), Sweden (2 points in 2 games), and Slovakia (1 point in 1 game).

The next match will oppose the tricolours to Latvians in Riga, on August 17.
