Deputy Chairman of Romania’s Senate Vasile Nistor of the Conservative Party (PC) on Thursday welcomed visiting Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Wan Gang, to whom he pointed out that 2014 is a landmark year in the history of the Romanian-Chinese bilateral relationship marked by the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of a an ample friendship and cooperation partnership. ‘In their conversation, the two sides underscored the special nature of the ties between Romania and the People’s Republic of China, which are connected by traditional friendship and cooperation ties that have constantly evolved in time beyond all changes having occurred in the two countries and in the world overall. At the same time, it was underscored that 2014 should be capitalised on to consolidate political, economic, scientific and cultural cooperation. Mentioned were areas such as agriculture, nuclear energy, infrastructure, the environment, the pharmaceuticals industry and medicine,’ the Romanian Senate reports in a press release.
