Candidate Udrea: When I’m president, Ponta will no longer be PM

People’s Movement Party (PMP) chair Elena Udrea announced a decision of the party’s National Executive Council excluding any collaboration with the ruling Social Democratic Party (PSD), as long as incumbent PM Victor Ponta and ‘representatives of barons’ lead the PSD.

In a press conference on Thursday, Udrea added that she would never nominate Ponta as prime minister if she becomes president of Romania.

‘I guarantee you that when I’m president of Romania, Victor Ponta will no longer be prime minister, and I will be the one who sends Victor Pota home,’ she said.

Udrea also called the co-chairs of the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL, in opposition, made up of the National Liberal Party PNL and the Democratic Liberal Party PDL) Klaus Johannis and Vasile Blaga to propose similar steps to their respective parties, PNL and PDL.

She mentioned that she is not among presidential candidates who have something to hide. ‘There’s nothing omitted from my resume,’ she asserted. She asked the other candidates to make ‘the same declaration of assuming, of responsibility to the citizens, or to correct their resumes.’
