PM Ponta: Ministers Dusa, Corlatean to attend NATO summit

Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Monday that Defence Minister Mircea Dusa and Foreign Minister Titus Corlatean will attend NATO Summit to be held in Wales on Sept. 4 and 5.

Ponta underscored that Romania’s objectives at the gathering were set with all the state institutions and they target NATO military presence in Romania.

‘Romania’s goals are pretty clear and have been set with all the state institutions, namely a very clear military presence of NATO in Romania, a very clear commitment to the entire eastern flank aimed at providing the security and the partnership in this region’, he said after a working meeting with Dusa and Corlatean hosted by the foreign ministry..

‘It is very important that Romania, which has proved to be a reliable partner for NATO, should know that the North Atlantic Alliance’s efforts are clearly channelled towards providing the security in this region and towards a very clear support for the new candidates to EU membership, for Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia and the commitments relating their security’, the prime minister underscored.
