Romania steel exports worth 611 million lei over four months

Romania’s steel and iron exports over the first four months of 2014 amounted to 611.3 million lei (1 leu = 0.2273 euros), 6.7 down year-on-year, according to data centralized by the National Institute of Statistics.

Over the same period, the country’s steel and iron imports advanced 2.7 percent, to 813.8 million lei.

The Romanian metallurgical industry had 30,300 employees at end-April; the average gross wage was 3,169 lei, and the net wage 2,262 lei
